Option to open links in new tab is not working on new version

In past versions when I set the option to open a link in a new tab, it worked. In Skyward, when I login , it opens a new window without a tab and it is very inconvenient, so I like to open it in a new tab which worked in previous versions of Firefox. The new version is no longer working that way and opens my login into a new window with no tabs. V. 67.0.1
