Missing at Mozilla.org is their old "Downloads" section, where the different versions of Firefox were available for their respective operating systems.

It is still there as always has been it is the Systems & Languages link in the green download box on mozilla.org

There is no Win64 Firefox Releases yet. Right now the earliest possibility is Firefox 38.0 though it may even not be until Firefox 41.0

Since 64b Windows is several years old, I thought a Windows 64b version would be available - and not in early development.

Linux has had a stable 64b Firefox for several years, and I was looking for something other than "the newest features and innovations in an __unstable__ environment" (key word 'unstable') . I assume the developer edition is called Nightly, NOT Firefox, correct? Any idea when a stable 64b Firefox version might be available?

The Aurora (aka Developer Edition) channel mentioned above is for Testers as it along with more unstable Nightly channel gets checkins almost everyday and therefore they get updates each of those days. There are four main channels Release, Beta, Aurora (aka Developer Edition) and Nightly.

There has been 64-bit Firefox for Mac OSX (combined 32/64 download) and Linux ever since Firefox 4.0 both because it was much easier to do and was needed.

The Win64 was not a priority and was not needed as much as people may think. The Win32 Firefox runs fun on 64-bit Windows. It was only more recently that Mozilla has been working on finishing all of the hurdles needed to be done to get to Release.

There is Win64 38.0b# on the Beta channel however like the Win64 Beta builds of Firefox 37.0b# they are likely automated builds since they are not listed in https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/all/

There can be about six to twelve builds on Beta channel and the first couple Beta builds of version can have issues initially.

There is ***NO*** access to any other Firefox version, newer or older. Therefore, the choice of various Firefox releases has been removed from the user.

The rapid advance of the 64b hardware platform is probably the biggest factor, with Windows users entering that platform (unaware?) beginning with Windows 7 as a 'loaded' OS. I'm not sure why one would opt for 32b software if 64b is available (e.g. one can run 32b programs on 64b Linux with the required libraries, but why? - because the 32b program is the only version available).

It sounds like Windows is stuck with 32b Firefox for a while.

Mozilla does not make the previous Release as easily available as the current Release due to older versions having potential critical security concerns that has been fixed in current.

For Linux the 64-bit was needed as otherwise the user would need to install needed 32-bit libraries, built it themselves or use a third-party 64-bit package from their Linux distro.

There was also lots of practice with the 64-bit Linux builds for sometime on Nightly channel before Firefox 4.0 Release even came about and they were mainly used to catch breakage since it is possible to break 64-bit without affecting 32-bit at time.

For Mac it was well needed and by supporting 64-bit as of Firefox 4.0, it was one of the reasons for dropping PPC support.

Also when there are Win64 Firefox releases one will need Windows 7, 8.x or newer as 64-bit XP, Vista and Servers is not supported.

The main issue is that 64 bit builds only work with 64 bit versions of plugins, so if you use plugins that do not have a 64 bit version then you are out of luck.
