So my problem started about a week ago when I tried going to my school email. I've noticed it happens when I go to any https site but it only happens in Firefox. The error given is "connection interrupted". I have no clue what it could be because it seems to have happened out of the blue. I was gone for a week so I didn't mess with any settings whatsoever but it started to happen when I got back.

I think I've tried about every solution I could find. Java enabled, SSL box is checked, changed the proxy settings, scanned for malware with multiple scanners, reset firefox, start firefox in safe mode, disable plugins, even downloading an older version to see if it still gave the error. None of these have worked and I'm left stumped

Hello KidRico, check your internet security(antivirus firewall), if blocks firefox ssl access.

what is your antivirus, nod32 eset ?

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet

thank you

I am using ESET Smart Security and I didn't see it on the list. Would the settings have changed on their own somehow? I never messed with my firewall settings and it just started occurring.

go to(in eset): Set up > enter advanced set up > web and mail > expand Protocol filtering > ssl > CHECK Do not scan ssl protocol > ok to save it, close firefox open it and check it again.

thanks

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
