My son is using Firefox with Linux (Ubuntu) He always used headphones to listen to videos. His monitor has built in speakers but he never used them as he had no audio lead. I purchased an audio lead to connect the base unit to the monitor to use the speakers. Now he says videos are buffering all the time when they never used to before when he used headphones. He has now gone back to using the headphones. Can the audio lead really cause videos to buffer????

Can you see a difference in CPU load when the buffering occurs?

Is there a different sound card used or an USB device that may need more processing power?
