It sounds like you have a corrupted Firefox client. I would suggest a clean install again, however I noticed you have not updated to the latest Firefox 10.0 version & are still on 9.0.1. I suggest uninstalling your current version from windows via standard add/remove programs & then downloading the latest 10.0 version and doing clean install.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
