When trying to remove any extensions I am told to restart, but restarting Firefox or even the computer itself won't remove the add-ons from the list; how do I get them off the list?

more options

I can't seem to remove certain add-ons from the extensions list, despite the fact that I've tried to uninstall them and don't see their folder in the AppData/extensions list. I just want to get these add-ons off the list. Next to each one it says they will be uninstalled next time I restart, but the stay there even when I restart the computer.

Thanks!

The files that store details of installed add-ons may be corrupt. Open the Firefox profile folder, for details of how to access it see the profiles article. Now close Firefox and in the profile folder delete extensions.ini, extensions.rdf and extensions.cache. When you re-start Firefox those files will be re-created and will rebuild the list of installed extensions/themes. This should resolve your problem.

Some extensions are installed globally and can't be uninstalled via the Firefox Add-ons Manager.
You can only disable such extensions.

You will have to remove them from the install location if you want to get rid of them.

Thanks to both of you. I've now done both of these things. None of the remaining extensions appear to be global, and even after deleting the extension files in the profile some remain in queue and the "Restart Firefox to complete your changes" alert still appears.
