I'm running 3.6.11 . ONLY Java Console and LASTPASS add-ons. All of the suggested About:Config changes made. Virus and maleware up to date.

Today (as usual) slow loading pages (Washington Post)(other sites have been issues at other times) While it was loading (and before it loaded Washington PostP) I was able to START Chrome/login to my igoogle account/find Washington Post AND load the first page of the Post. And FF was going nowhere fast.

Please don't recommend an older copy of FF - there is a reason folks don't go back to Windows95. Please don't recommend stripping the TWO ONLY add-ons because I've tried that too. Please don't recommend the typical About:configs that have been recommended more than sex because I've done that. I've even set up a new profile. As I said virus and malware have been run. Fact is that this AM I was able to start Chrome and login to igoogle and get to Washington Post FASTER than accessing it through FF. And this is NOT an isolated instance.

So DO I forget Firefox now and in the future?

I have the exact same problem (with the same websites -- in fact with most webpages that have a lot of ads on them), and have taken the exact same steps to try to correct it. I'm using 3.6.15. I don't have the problem with IE. The only thing I can think of is that I recently cleaned out about about 1.6 GB of temporary internet files, and I wonder if I might have gotten rid of some cached html pages in the process.
