Firefox internet shortcuts missing favicons

I hope you guys don't mind me posting this not exactly a Firefox problem?

After restoring a Macrium backup, all my internet shortcuts have blank favicons. How does that happen? What is the best way to handle that?

This is a problem with the Windows icon cache (IconCache.db) that likely wasn't restored properly or an older version got restored. Could also be a problem with the default browser as changing the default browser will also affect the icons of internet shortcuts. Best is to ask this in a Windows oriented forum.
