Often when browsing I find that when i want to use spacebar it does something i don't want it to do, which is advance the page downwards, like the "page down" button. I'd like to change that to something else, like maybe the page down key. Thanks.

That is not possible as far as I know. Why are you using the Space key on webpages? Note that you can use Shift+Space to revert this accidental page down action.

Space and Shift+Space are navigation buttons that behave like PageDown and PageUp if the focus isn't set to a text input area.

yes, this is what is known, spacebar (and shift+sb) does this: ________ (what i am upset about, and there is no alternative, nor can i disable it) so then the question becomes: is mozilla able to respond to user feedback? do they simply do what they want without bothering to see if ppl want that? do they just not offer options because ... reasons? anyway, i'm at the point of not using firefox... so.... anyway....

I had to try it, on this page. Tapping the space bar caused my view to go to the bottom of the page.
