On my iMac using Firefox 68.0.1 why can't I copy, paste, or use the text to speech function?

On web pages I highlight the text and press Command + L to have my iMac read me the text. This function no longer works with Firefox. I tried to copy and paste into another app and have my iMac read me the text but copy and paste don't work either. Also I can't copy or past and url. All these functions work with all other apps including Chrome.
