How do I stop Mahjong Arena ads?

This company has ads that cover the material I want to read, and worse, the ads are timed so I cannot X to close them. They pop up constantly no matter what site I'm on. I need to get rid of them. I've heard of ad blockers but don't know how to do this. Thank you. I have Windows 7

Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting

In order to install an extension, please do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Search and add to Firefox
