There are a great many search engines out there. Many are already installed in Firefox.
Google, Ask, Bing, Yahoo . . . . . . . .
Type about:preferences#search<enter> in the address box.
The en-US Firefox web browser from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ comes with Yahoo as the default search engine since Firefox 34.0 as Google is no longer the global default search engine in Firefox in any locale as different locales have different default search engines now.
You can change what search engine to use in Search Bar or on the default about:home homepage.

Most of the suggestions given all you the Microsoft or Google search engines. Did you know that Yahoo uses the Google search engine but puts a different overlay on it ?
If you use the Bing search engine, Microsoft will access your computer through back doors that Bing has built in :(
