Passwords stopped filling in automatically on ALL websites. They are still showing in 'saved passwords'. signon.autofillforms is set to true'. I've been getting a popup message and do not know if it may have something to do with my problem. It says: a script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now or you can continue to see if script will complete. continue or stop script now. I select 'stop script now' to get my page back to loading. This happens every 5-10 minutes. Win7 FF 39.0

Do you answer by email or do I need to come back here every so often?

Thanks

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
