I would like it if I could find a way to get NAME off of my Firefox. It seems to only be there. I have tried multiple malware/adware/virus programs. I have also tried Add/Remove Programs. I don't want to have to reinstall Firefox because I have reached my Java Limit. I have Windows XP SP3. I can't upgrade to a newer pc or windows. I don't have a money tree. If there is any way to get NAME off please help. It is hendering my, up until now, wonderful experience of Firefox. It is on every page I goto exept oddly Facebook. It keeps opening it's own tabs and forewarding some of the pages I'm on to one of theirs. It started after I got a yahoo search problem fixed in Firefox. Please help. I did have Firefox v39 but updated to 40.0.2 because I hoped it would fix the problem.

The process of importing bookmarks should not introduce any malware to the second PC.

ok...I can't find where to open a new topic so I'm asking the question here instead.

I think FireFox v40 and higher along with IE v8 are busted. The games I use on Facebook keep freezing just as they are loaded how do I fix it. I just took off Google Chrome because it was trying to mess the PC up. It even rebooted my PC by itself. It has been the only thing lately that will play those games. How do I fix FireFox?

I still have Windows XP. And when I open Firefox it revs the PC up and sometimes keeps it reved even after it is closed.

One thing that comes to mind is a setting change in Firefox 40 that was "undone" by a the 40.0.3 update but which could have gotten switched around during your reinstall. Here's my previous post from another thread about that:

There is an issue with some Flash games not loading in Firefox 40. To see whether the game you are playing is affected by that issue (asynchronous loading), you could try this settings change:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste ipc and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.asyncInit preference to switch its value from true to false

I don't know whether that starts taking effect immediately, or whether you need to exit Firefox and start it up again.

Otherwise, hmm, there's really not a good alternative to Flash 18 at this point (the older extended support release of Flash 13 was discontinued by Adobe).

Ii was partially fixed. It was already on false so I turned it to true. It seemed to work. I reopened Firefox after doing that anyway. Thank you for your help. :)
