Why does firefox prevent using USAA home deposit?

I log on to my USAA bank account, try to deposit on line, flag says install updated Java. It is installed. Cant scan or deposit. It used to work fine.

On the address bar, do you get a plugin notification icon? It looks a bit like a Lego block.

If Yes, if you click that icon, does it show that Firefox is allowing Java for the site, or can you approve the site to use Java?

If No, the site might not be properly detecting Java, or there might be a script-related issue that is causing the page not to be able to start Java. (This can be hard to diagnose through a forum...)

Let's start with;

Separate Issue; Your System Details shows;

Installed Plug-ins

Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202 Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0 Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502
Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Flash Player Version 17.0.0.188

I have had problems with USAA in the past but nothing like this. I have fought USAA for the past week to no avail. They state firefox does not talk to java which is required to deposit a check. They also state they are having problems and should be corrected with the next two months. Good luck with that. What to do next to deposit a check. They state I can go to a UPS store to make deposit or mail in the check. Not an option in my opinion. I may just go to a brick and mortar bank in the near future. I go to internet explorer as they suggested with the same results. Everything is up to date on my end. Come on firefox, are you the problem, if so please fix it.

Hi jacklj, if Java is not working in either of your browsers, you may actually need to update your Java.

If the automatic detection page doesn't give you a usable installer, you can use the manual selection page:

Thanks for the info, but I am up to date on all counts. Java and firefox seems to be the issue to hear it from USAA. My problem is I scan the front of the check, then the back, but it asks me to scan the back again with For deposit only USAA FSB, signature of course, and my account number. That is the only way I can arrive at submit. When that is done I get an error msg, Unable to read the numbers at the bottom of the check. This happens on either browser which both are up to date. USAA must have a bunch of idiots working in their tech support dept., or they really have a problem that they can't rectify. I am at a loss with them. Their IT dept. will not call you, so I finally got a supervisor who was no help. So you are able to deposit checks on either browser? Thanks,

I'm very old fashioned and hand checks to a human being for deposit. Gets me out of the office.

If you can see the numbers in the scan before submitting the check, it doesn't make any sense that they can't see them after they are uploaded.

If neither Firefox nor Internet Explorer works with this site, have you tried Google Chrome? Perhaps if they didn't already suggest that, they know it doesn't work there, either.
