No sound when using Firefox Hello despite Firefox playing audio files in websites correctly..

I tried to use Firefox Hello for a conversation with my mother, who also uses Firefox. She couldn't get any sound, just the video image, despite the volume controls being set correctly. The microphone settings are correct and, in fact, I tried calling her using two different computers but with the same result each time. I have successfully used it for a conversation with someone different. We both have Windows 7 Professional and Firefox v36.0

My mother is able to listen to audio tracks in websites using Firefox but can't hear a thing in Hello, which makes it all seem rather strange.

Pleased to say that all is working now. Nothing was changed, so why didn't it work the other day? One of life's little mysteries but work it does, which is all that matters.

Hello Philipp,

Thanks for the suggestion but no, that's not the answer. There's no problem with playing an audio clip on a website - itjust seems to be when trying to use Hello that there's this problem.
