I uninstalled firefox because I was tricked into an upgrade only to install the branded version of Yahoo. thanks anyway

Very annoyed with a trick upgrade that left me with the branded Firefox that had YAHOO!! on the top right menu bar. So uninstalled. I feel that I was violated,

Which upgrade? Was it an upgrade of an addon you had installed?

I'm sure that Firefox itself would never trick you into installing anything.

If you are in the US timezone and haven't changed the default search engine yourself then the default search engine will be set to Yahoo!. You will have to undo this change yourself and set Google as the default search provider via "Change search engines" (Search tab in Options/Preferences).
