Ciao, ti comunico che in mattinata come sempre all'apertura della posta come di incanto thunderbird era tutto in italiano, probabilmente ha risposto a scoppio ritardato all'azione lanciata in precedenza per scaricare e installare il link ricevuto dal tuo collega per ottenere la nuova versione che all'atto non ha recepito ma ora è perfetta cioè in italiano come la preferivo, riguardo il passaggio di cambiare lingua che mi suggerisci l'avevo provato senza successo. I have downloaded downloaded language packs English UK and French France, but when I spell check in Mozilla the only option in the open menu for language there is only English US to use even though the other two preferred languages have been downloaded. Am I missing a trick to activate the languages so that they show in my language menu when spell checking?

Very frustrating that I only have a default of US considering I am in France and use French and UK English.

I use to have spell check on my Mac Air, but now it's gone. How do I get it back on? I've googled to find out, tells me to go to Settings, Language, etc. Spell check shows it's mark in the box, but when I go to type in words it doesn't come underlined in red. How can I get it back?

Firefox shows Russian as the selected "Fallback language", but I cannot change it to another language.

My current language settings are:

Preferred language: English (US) Fallback language: Russian Website languages: Ukrainian [uk], English (United States) [en-us], English [en]

I do not want Russian to be used as a fallback language.

Steps to reproduce: Open Firefox Settings. Open the language settings. Set the Preferred language to English (US). Observe the Fallback language setting. Try to change the Fallback language from Russian to English or Ukrainian.

Actual result The Fallback language is set to Russian and cannot be changed to another language. The fallback language dropdown works correctly, but the list contains only Russian.

Expected result

The Fallback language should be selectable independently of the Preferred language, and I should be able to select English (US) or Ukrainian or Polish instead of Russian.

Additional information

The issue is present on:

Firefox 154.0.1 macOS Apple Silicon (aarch64)

The Website languages setting already contains Ukrainian and English, but this does not allow me to remove Russian from the Firefox UI fallback language.

I'm getting the "whats new" page always in Russian

My Firefox download is German. I know only English. Is automatic translation facility available in Firefox? Say, can I translate pages in French Spanish or Russian in English?

When using the native translation tool in Firefox for iOS to translate an English page (specifically tested on Wikipedia) into Portuguese, the translation is incomplete and inconsistent.

This behavior mostly occurs inside collapsible sections (the topics that expand and collapse when you tap the arrow icon). The translation failure is not just on a paragraph-by-paragraph basis; it often occurs partially within the same section, where some sentences are successfully translated while others right next to them remain entirely in English.

Steps to reproduce:

   Open Firefox on iOS.

   Navigate to an English Wikipedia article (mobile view, which uses collapsible sections).

   Trigger the built-in Firefox translator to translate the page to Portuguese.

   Expand one of the sections using the dropdown arrow.

Expected result:

The entire text, including all sentences and paragraphs inside the expanded sections, should be fully translated into Portuguese.

Actual result:

A broken, partially translated layout where some sentences/paragraphs are translated, but others immediately below (or within the same block) remain in the original English.

Just had occasion to use the word Backpfeifengesicht. Out of curiosity, I highlighted, right-clicked, and chose "Translate to English". Hilarious result: "Baking pipe face".

(The correct answer is "punch-me face".)

Translate is often quite good, but I think it would be nice to be able to report the occasional mistake. So, as I asked in the subject linke: is there a central place to do this?

Dear Support,

Around 12-14 August 2026, there was an update pushed for the Thunderbird client esr (extended support release). My current version is 153.1.0esr. After the update, some of my new e-mail received question mark characters '?' instead of content in Traditional Chinese.

I could view the affected e-mail on the e-mail server, but not on the recently updated Thunderbord client. The issue only exists after the recently update of thunderbird esr in August 2026.

Not all e-mails in Traditional Chinese were affected, just some of them.

Is there any change for the language encoding recently? What should I do to resolve the issue?
