I have been confused on the last several days, until I finally realized what was happening. The bookmarks are not the same in the regular browser and the private windows browsing. I am not sure why they would be different. I use Windows 11 pro and installed the Firefox app. I have to use private browsing for some of my applications and can just use the regular window for the rest. Now I have missing bookmarks and it is a mess. Some are on one screen and some are on private browsing. As a note: I do not sign in with an account in the Firefox settings, nor should I have to. I do not like all the tracking and everything that happens when you have to sign in on a browser with an account. I should not have to do that for my bookmarks to work between the two windows. This is a real issue. I have Firefox 159.0 (64-bit).

In Firefox beta for android, it would be nice to have an "apply" button or a "checkmark ✔" button while doing anything inside the Bookmarks menu (moving a bookmark for example). Right now, to confirm the folder where to store the bookmark you need to press the "go back" arrow on the top left. And it's not very intuitive. It feels more like I'm cancelling the action, not applying it. Pressing enter on the keyboard also does not apply the action.

This category seemed the most appropriate from the list. Bookmarks are the first of 2 issues I need help with.

On my first start after upgrading to v158, all my bookmarks are missing, normally shown in a sidebar. All the suggested means of getting bookmarks back via a profile simply did not work: the restore panel asks for a file and all the various bookmarks in a profile are in a folder. the 2 did not mix. I do have exported bookmarks as a json file, but obviously it's hidden for FF, but not for explorer. Nothing recommended in the articles worked. In frustration, I removed the software and downloaded a new copy. Same issues applied. I copied the latest json file to the desktop, and restored it from there. AND after a restart, there were none of those bookmarks on the browser page. BUT selecting managing bookmarks and there they all are.

So how do I get the bookmarks from the management page to the normal user interface??

Yahoo changed everything and I can find anything. Is there any way to get back my classic Yahoo. I would like to keep my Yahoo email because it is linked to everything. I fix most problems but it seems like everyday there is another missing part of the old classic Yahoo.

All of a sudden my bookmarks are no longer working. (I have many, so keep them in a panel on the left side of my screen.)

First, tried to search bookmarks for a specific shortcut: Typed in name. Nothing appears.

Then, I scrolled through my list of bookmarks to manually find the one I wanted. Clicked on tha bookmark, but nothing happens. Website doesn't open. Tried several others, too, still nothing happens. None of the bookmarks are functional.

Tried going out of FF and coming back in. Didn't help. Tried rebooting computer and coming back in. Didn't help.

Anyone else having this problem or can tell me how to get bookmarks working again?

I know this is probably so easy to do, but I do have a brain disorder and I cannot figure out how to move saved folders into my main folder in my bookmarks. Please Help Me!!

Hi, I can't delete any bookmark. I have tried it : on the page, by clicking the star and "remove bookmark" ; in the bookmark list, by right-click and "delete bookmark" ; in the bookmark list, by using the "organise" tab and choosing "delete bookmark". It affects, as far as I can tell, all my bookmarks. I can add new bookmarks, but not delete them. I clean my cache regularly, and my browser is up to date. I use Windows10, in case that is relevant. I would be grateful for any help you could provide, Have a good day, J.

When I bookmark YouTube videos the bookmark title is empty. This problem started right after the recent Firefox update.

Hello... I'm curious to know with Firefox bookmarks, is there a folder somewhere on Windows 11 that shows your bookmarks? What I'm getting at is that every time I do a clean installation of Windows and reinstall Firefox, I have to manually re-add all my bookmarks on the toolbar one at a time. Is there an easier way to do this? I have about 20 bookmarks on my toolbar, it would be nice if I could just simply copy all of them and paste them into the bookmarks folder, if there is such a thing, pls advise. Thanks

It is absolutely ridiculous to have a user interface that includes an item that is never used but keeps getting in the way.

Here it is 10 years after the introduction of "Other Bookmarks" and the folder is still not being used yet users cannot delete this trivial folder.

And no, hiding it does not work.

as a comment, if it takes more than 2-3 clicks to access something, for the sole purpose of making the screen look more clean, that is a user UNFRIENDLY downgrade, that only makes the interface more frustrating to use. I want a bookmarks tab that I can click once and see all my bookmarks without have to use a sidebar menu
