Different Thunderbird versions display a programmed year date in the archive option. For example, 2021 in one program and 2024 in another. Is that normal? I can't change anything.

It's as if it's accessing some kind of backup and maybe even sharing it, and I don't know what's correct.

Update Channel Ellipse Update Channel esr. Previously, there were different channels. Isn't another channel better? I've read that it's more stable than switching. Is that true? Information regarding the question below?

I have been using Thunderbird for ages now with no problem, but I suddenly realised that no recent emails were appearing from my Gmail account. I have tried everything suggested on line to resolve the problem, including uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, and deleting and re-entering my acccount details but neither the IMAP or SMTP servers will connect to Gmail. I have reset all of the server settings on Thunderbird, and have checked that Gmail is IMAP compliant (which, apparently, is is now automatically). I have spent hours trying to sort this out and am just at the point of abandoning Thunderbird completely, but I am loathe to do so if there is a solution. The latest error message i have received is "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" but I don't know what else I can check or change.

In my thunderbird application (149.0.1 version windows 11) in the main window (where i see all emails), the column RECIPIENT shows the CC recipient instead of the TO recipient

So for example, if someone send me and email and add a CC, at the recipient column i see the CC email and not mine.

Is this a bug or this is how it suppose to work? Is there a way i can change it?

Hey all, I installed the current version of Tbird on a couple of machines for a friend, one machine worked fine for a month or so, then started giving the "unable to write the email to the mailbox, make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox" error. There is a ton of free space on his C: drive, hundreds of GB. Yesterday I installed Thunderbird to another of his PCs, also no 3rd party AV (both running Win 11), same exact error after downloading a handful of emails from a few weeks ago. To make things weirder he took his laptop (the machine that worked ok for a short time) to his office, where he has a different ISP and it downloaded all of his mail! What is going on here? I have seen plenty of threads about this error, I tried compacting, repairing the folder etc, nothing fixes the problem and Thunderbird sits there not syncing his mail. At the bottom of the window it shows that there are 200 or so emails to download, it looks like they are downloading for a bit, then it quits trying and gives the error. Is there a known cause of this seemingly common error? Are Thunderbird devs aware there's an issue that renders their software unuseable for some users? His mail account is with Brightspeed, an old centurytel.net account. Please share any tips you may have for overcoming this error, thanks!
