My firefox browser crashes and is almost unusable. I'm on windows 10 and the only thing that has been updated in months is Firefox. I do not believe in upgrading computers and have surgery schedule in a couple of weeks so buying a new computer isn't feasible right now. I've used firefox since I bought my first computer and I want it back.

I've had a problem for a while where Firefox tells me "Firefox is being updated by another instance" and the only way I've been able to get updates is by using the installer.

In my attempts to resolve this, I learned of the `about:profiles`. I have never set up profiles so I figures I should only have the 1 default profile but it turns out I have `default`, `default-release`, default-release-1`, and `default-release-2`.

Of these profiles, the `default-release` is the 1 that has my data while it is `default-release-1` that is able to update.

I would like to make it so that I only have 1 profile that has all of my data AND is able to update.

I already tried removing all the profiles accept the one with my data but that leaves Firefox unable to update. I restored all the profiles I removed and I am back to where I started.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I currently have Version 115.37.0esr (64-bit). When I click Check For Updates, it says I'm updated to the current version, but apparently the current version is 152.0.6. Why can't I get this version?

today i open firefox ask me to reastart for a update i did it ask me to do instal a helper i did then i open it then agian on a loop i task me to intall a helper i did like 50 times hwo cna i jsut do the update and get otu fo the loop of intaling helpers for firefox

Every time I log on to Firefox, or attempt to use the brozser, I am asked to update Firefox. So I proceed to do the update download; The software refuses to do anything. So I continue with the old release. Apparently, this is a common problem. Yet Firefox staff continues to ignore the situation.

HOW DOES ONE UPDATE THE FIREFOX SOFTWARE?????

I am fed up having to update firefox every single day !! Is it not completing the update or is there some glitch that keeps occurring ??

I have used FF for quite a while and ignored MicroSoft Edge... but I dont know how much longer I can carry on with this slowdown !!

Comment le flusher sans qu'il réapparaisse à tout moment et comment puis-je m'assurer que ce n'est pas de l'intrusion ?

Want to roll back my latest update. all my saved items on home page,bookmark and history tiles vanished. Firefox shouldnot give two rips what browser I am using be it: Windows 10 11, 13, 7 ,or ME

On my wifes PC Firefox appears to be doing random things. First the screen turned pink, then the taskbar icon has a gear-wheel overlaying it, and she is unable to do anything, like logging into zoom. Google searches work but clicking on any link goes nowhere and just sits. Is there a way of returning to it's previous boring but appreciated habit of just working, without uninstalling and re-installing from scratch please? thanks (she is currently using our fallback laptop in her office so I can't access her pc for an hour or so.)

Every time I log into MOZILLA_FIREFOX it asks to update. I have tried this before. I usually just hit that NO button...When I do click on the YES button & try to update...IT WIPES OUT EVERYTHING I HAVE STORED ON FIREFOX. EVERY SINGLE PASSWORD...SHOPPING LISTS...I'm done! I now once again have to go and recover all my information. Thing is....it updates automatically........so WTH is going on? I will start looking for aother browser...is this a scam or what?

The details:

1.) After downloading the update, my antivirus scanner reports an infected file (see screenshots / message + path).

2.) When I try to “Restart Firefox to complete the update,” Firefox briefly “disappears” (whatever happens there) and then “reappears”—but the prompt “Restart Firefox to complete the update” is still there. Unfortunately, this can be repeated as many times as you like without anything changing.

3.) Restarting the computer (Platform: macOS Tahoe 26.5.1) does not resolve the issue either (see screenshot). I always performed previous updates before shutting down the computer—and the next day (since Firefox, as expected, had been closed and restarted), the updated version of Firefox was running.

4.) The suggested solution is to download the “Firefox installer.” But that doesn’t help me, since I need “Firefox DEVELOPER.”

Would uninstalling Firefox DEVELOPER and reinstalling it >WITHOUT DATA LOSS< be a solution??
