Import Firefox from another computer
My old laptop crashed and I had to buy another one. My old one was running Windows XP and my new one has Windows 8. I pulled the hard drive from my old computer to recover my files. Is it possible for me to recover my favorites and saved passwords for Firefox from my old hard drive?
Thank you

Thats where Sync option comes into action. Open the firefox in your old device.
At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu and select Set Up Sync.
The Firefox Sync Setup window will open. Click Create a New Account. Fill in your account details:
1> Email address
2> Choose a password and enter it a second time to make sure you have it right.
3> Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
4> Confirm that you're not a robot!
5> To change what information gets synced, click Sync Options. The default is to sync your add-ons, bookmarks, passwords, preferences, history and tabs.
Finally, click Next.
You will see a Setup Complete! message. Click Close to close the progress window and take you back to Firefox. Don't worry, your data will continue to be encrypted and uploaded in the background.
Now Open your new device
1> At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu and select Set Up Sync. The Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
2> Click I Have an Account.
3> The code to add this computer will be displayed.
enter the code and follow the steps and you will be done
The problem I have is my old computer is dead. I pulled the hard drive out of it to recover my data. Is it still possible to recover this way? There is a Mozilla Firefox file under program files on my old hard drive.

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
