replace existing Thunderbird Profile with previous one?
I need to return to using POP from IMAP. In addition to changing the server settings, can I replace the current Profile directory with the last known working one? If so, is there anything else I need to do, besides backing up the current email directory?

Yes, many users use multiple profiles. Since your current setup is IMAP, is there a need to backup, since the mail is on the server?

Yes, I will need to revert to POP and store emails locally because I frequently hit Comcast's limits, requiring me to manually delete large numbers of emails before the system accepts new mail. This was not a problem when I used POP as the emails were deleted from the server when I downloaded them to my computer. Now deleting them on the server also deletes them locally if I have not made a local copy of the Inbox first.
