Thunderbird does not capture messages from GMX

Hi,

I am still having problems with getting Thunderbird to work with GMX.

After I followed the advice by another kind helper not to enter the password when setting up I could at least create the account (not possible when I did enter the password at that stage). As he predicted, GMX asked for the password, the first time I tried to get the messages, and I entered it. I did (and do) not get an error message now, but nothing happens. I have checked and rechecked the server details as provided by GMX, I have played around with different ports, but to no avail.

Any tips what I can try next?

If you search for "connecting to a GMX account" in Duck Duck Go, a GMX server document listing what needs to be checked pops up. I would send you the link but, if I do, a moderator will need to approve this response and that could take several hours. So help would be delayed. Hope you can find it.
