Hello everyone

I migrate MacOS and i discover a bad UI behavior. The toolbars slide when I move the mouse to the top. Therefore, it becomes difficult to select the desired tab.

However, this is not the case in Safari. You can watch the videos.

Is there a setting that can prevent tabs from sliding?

You can look at these two full-screen-api prefs on the about:config page.

  • full-screen-api.macos-native-full-screen
  • full-screen-api.macos.shiftToolbar

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".

Thank you but I tried both settings but still sliding anyway. :(

Toolbars showing if you hover the mouse to the top (two pixel) is expected behavior if you are in Full Screen Mode.

Make sure you do not run Firefox in Full Screen Mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

You can possibly disable toolbar autohide via the right-click context menu in full screen mode (not sure whether this is possible on Mac).

Yeah expected behaviour but behaviour is not make sense. Because toolbar when slide empty area not used. There is only emptiness in that area. I think that's why this is UX or UI problem. Like Safari, Firefox main objects shouldn't move anywhere. You watch the video and you see address bar and everything also sliding :) This is unnecessary action.

Mac user have to use fullscreen. Because 3 finger move change the desktops and if you can't use Fullscreen application you can't see main desktop using 3 finger move.
