When I go to certain website like Alternet.org, Mozilla responds with a message that that web address can't be found or accessed, so I then have to reboot the website and eventually it loads. What is going on here?

This could be a DNS issue. DNS tells the browser what server runs the website. This information is cached on your system for a while so that it doesn't have to be looked up again.

To clear the DNS cache, do the following:

  1. Close Firefox
  2. Press the Windows Key + R
  3. Run cmd
  4. Type ipconfig /flushdns
  5. Press enter

Now if you reopen Firefox, it will have to lookup the DNS for each website. In some cases, you may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
