Are we supposed to be changing our emails and/or browsers to firefox?
I am not sure, I guess in the beginning of this year, I noticed on the thunderbird home page, that Firefox had joined them. So, my question now is, are we supposed to be changing over to Firefox. If so, how do we do this, and keep thunderbird as out default email program?

Firefox is a web browser, not an email client. So what are you talking about?
I know Firefox is a web browser. So why did fire fox join Thunderbird? Is it safer? or is it better than IE 10 or google?
Firefox and Thunderbird were both developed by Mozilla. Both can be traced back to circa 2004. There has been no joining; it would be more accurate to say they have split apart, since the announcement a couple of years ago that Mozilla wished to stop developing Thunderbird as it no longer fitted into their corporate vision of the future.

What have you seen or read that gave you the impression you should change from one to the other? They are complementary, not alternatives.
So, We can keep our browsers we now have? We don't have to change to Firefox, just because it is listed, it's just an option?
Of course you don't have to change the browser.
But you can at least consider using Firefox, it's better than IE 10 and google! ;)
