Firefox update deleted all my bookmarks, it's as if it uninstalled and reinstalled a completely new Firefox.

My computer had a blue screen. It restarted itself. When it comes back Firefox had updated but I lost all my bookmarks and everything. I've never had a Firefox account so I can't sign in so I can't get them back. I don't know what to do. I lost years of bookmarks and all the bookmarks for my college papers. I have to do a month of research all over again...

Is there any way to fix this please?

Let's explore your system for Firefox's automatic bookmark backups.

First, set Windows to show hidden files and folders:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

Then open your Firefox "Profiles" folder: type or paste the following into the Start menu search box and press Enter to launch Windows Explorer in that folder.

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

In the search box at the upper right, enter the following and then let the search run:

bookmarks-2016*

Does Windows show any files matching that pattern?

First, if you haven't already, could you shut down Windows (normally, i.e., not a hard crash) and start it up again? This is just to make sure you have a normal startup with full privileges and your standard user profile.

Next, what was happening with Firefox when the crash occurred? Was it in the midst of an update or a Refresh?

If you find a bookmark backup file that you want to try restoring, I suggest copying it to your Windows desktop for easier access. Then use the steps in the following article. Use the "Choose File" option on the menu and look for the file you copied to your desktop.

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Any luck?
