after downloading email to thunderbird, email is deleted from iphone
I can download emails to my iPhone 5s from my earthlink account. When i later download them from the server to Thunderbird, the emails are deleted from the iPhone (both unflagged and flagged mail). Previously, after downloading emails from the server to Thunderbird, it would leave the emails in my iPhone. I would like the emails to stay on the phone after downloading them to Thunderbird.

Sounds like you have the account in Thunderbird set for POP instead of IMAP. If you are checking email from multiple devices you should use IMAP.
