Firefox 3.5 (updated 30 Jan) won't play videos (get 'interference' lines) on my 4.2.2 Android although YouTube is fine.

I have read that installing a Beta version may workaround this, but are Beta's stable, reliable and will I retain all my bookmarks? I run Firefox on 2 other devices and was about to sync all data so I'm worried I may confound the problem. How often does Firefox update and does anyone know if Mozilla Firefox is working on a fix and when the next update might be released? Thanks!

Sync should not interfere with video playing on an Android device, as far as I know. However if you reinstall beta on the device, you will loose the bookmarks on that device. However, if you go to the Google play store, look up Firefox beta, select update, the data should be preserved.

Thanks gujgs2, The problem occurred with the Firefox update 3.5. As a result I have not synced as I don't wish to update my other devices with what seems by other reports to be a bad release. I still have horizontal venetian blind interference on all videos played via Firefox, but none when playing via my YouTube app. Does anyone know How often does Firefox update, if Mozilla Firefox is working on a fix and when the next update might be released? Thanks!

The code in Firefox beta will be released on Feb 24th midday Pacific time as Firefox.

Firefox beta and Firefox release will co-exist on the same device without issue. However Firefox beta cannot access Firefox release's bookmarks, history or other user data. You can use Firefox sync to connect your Firefox account to the Firefox beta application. This will bring over your bookmarks and similar information to Firefox Beta. This will not cause the vertical line issue to spread.
