From a back-up DVD: how to get bookmarks back in de sidebar ?
I formatted my hard disk. I thought it would be easy to do from the backup DVD I have found the folder, which contains the bookmarks, but I cannot figure out how to get them back in the sidebar.

Put them in the bookmarks menu folder from the Bookmarks > Show all bookmarks menu.
Do you see the places.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile folder on the DVD?
If so, copy that file into the new Profile folder, replacing the same named file that was created when you installed Firefox after the format. Make sure that file isn't marked as Read-only after copying to your hard disk.
