I have 100s of bookmarks that work fine on other browsers. Most are .mil, .gov., & va websites. All of which say, "The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided." in Firefox. I want to completely bypass certificate warnings without having to make exceptions for every site. I understand the risks. I prefer them, over these warning. Viruses, malware, phishing, etc, I can deal with. I just want FREEDOM from these certificate blockades, FREEDOM to choose my own security. I will choose security that is less obtrusive / problematic than the attacks they mean to prevent. Even Microsoft allows you to turn off user account controls. My computer IS already secure, & what I input IS secure. Now act like open source and allow me to choose FREEDOM from these certificate blockades.

If you have to visit website that use DoD certificates then you can install those certificates to avoid getting error pages (click the Download button).

Thanks, but is that really the best Firefox users get. Constantly having to manually fix the browser to accept certificates. Firefox's security is fine for those who like to rely on it, but for those who dislike being FORCED to rely on it, there should be some means to bypass it, without having to ask for some link like this every time. I said the majority were .mil links, but I still run into this elsewhere. What is THE solution for those of us who rather dislike being forced to rely on this primitive, dysfunctional, oppressive, big-brother - overprotective - ware? Don't misunderstand me, I get what SSL is and the purpose of certificates. But I also know when I'm entering a known and trusted site vs. some random site found somewhere on the web. I use multiple Firefox profiles. I'd like to disable this stuff on my profiles which I use for official business where I only go on known & trusted sites. Plain and simple, I'd like to stop getting this error in particular. Is it not possible to use Firefox to my liking, for my needs.

Still getting the same error message after installing that. i.e.

"myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

The site seems to be up for everyone, not using Firefox. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil renders : It's just you. http://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil is up.

I suppose if I work hard enough and long enough I may get this one single site to work... then I can just do the same with the 100s of other sites that Firefox gives this same err code for. One by one, in a couple of years I may have them all fixed. Perhaps even by next Veterans day. Or if I work hard enough, maybe a couple of months.

Firefox used to be the best browser. I believe it can be again someday. Please don't prove me wrong.
