Hi Paul, was the bar with File Edit View...? Firefox calls it the Menu Bar and here's the article on how to turn it back on: [[Restore the Menu bar in Firefox]]. Does that work on yours? If there was a different bar, could you describe what was on it? Thanks. Finally, if all your bars disappear, this sometimes is caused by going into Full Screen. On Windows, F11 turns browser-level full screen on and off. (To escape full screen on a page, you can tap the Esc key.)
