Is this specific to ad blockers or do you have this issue with ANY extension on the Add-ons site?
Some users have reported that they can work around the connection failed issue by using the "Versions" page. To access that page, either
- scroll down the main page and look for the "See all versions" link in the left column, and click that
- click in the address bar, then move the cursor to the right end and add versions and press Enter to load it.
For example:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/versions/
Can you install from there? For me, the first install button link is:
do not understand what you are stating i just go to addons or pugins manager search for adblocker none of them will install
Try the two links. Do either of them work?
@kenstrguy, you first need to check if they will run on FF57+ if they are not updated to run of FF57 they will not install or run. This is something the Addons makers should've update if they want their software to comply with the new FF57 Addon Web Addons if they don't it will not work. So you need to ask those Addons makers your trying to use did they update to FF57 or not.
links do not work come back unsecure or failure
there is no contact for developer that i can see

"come back unsecure" means... you get this error?
If you get that page, please click the Advanced button and copy/paste the more detailed explanation there into your next reply here. Make sure to include any code starting with SEC_ERROR. Thanks.
here is the reply addons.cdn.mozilla.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. For some reason, your request is getting redirected to the server for https://search.dnsadvantage.com/
Do you use Norton ConnectSafe? There has been an intermittent problem with that service blocking access to the add-ons site. Seems to be an example of one bad apple causing a block on everything.
- Can't download extension with firefox 56.0.2 version, because of connection failure - same search.dnsadvantage.com domain
- Unable to download/install ANY/ALL add-ons? - discusses workarounds
nope is there other programs that could do that i use avg free ccleaner malwarebytes super anti spyware i may switch out avg for avast if that will help
I don't think AVG, Malwarebytes, or SuperAntispyware would intercept a request for an add-on. AVG does have a filter for searches, if I recall correctly, but I don't think it extends to other kinds of sites unless they've changed it.
Maybe this is a feature provided by your internet service provider?? Hopefully it will get unblocked eventually because I'm not aware of an easy "Plan B" to download/install an add-on.
