Twice now I have had a master password prompt come up suddenly for an unknown reason. I did not enter my password as I did not trust it. Is there a way to detect why this is happening?
The first time it happened after I had been reading a page for about 10 minutes. I had two other tabs open for the same site and no other non-suspended tabs. I did not have an account on that site.
The second time happened while watching a video on a different site, about 40 minutes in. No other tabs were active. I did have an account for that site, but I was already logged in via cookies.
In both cases I was just reading/watching; there seems to be no user action that triggered it. This makes me think it is not caused by a login request for a site, but by a (malicious) extension or some background process in Firefox.
I do not use Firefox Sync, nor am I signed into a Firefox account.

Hi! One "happy" day Firefox suggested me to secure my privacy, I clicked "yes" and since this day I need to enter for all my accounts all logs and paswords each time I open Firefox. Despite Firefox autocomplete logs and passwords I waste a lot of time for it especialy with two factors veryfication. How I can roll this function back to old happy time when google and social networks remember my browser and I just open it in one click? Changing settings on privacy and security page doesn't help. Please help me cause i can't find any relevant information anywhere.

Hello,
My firefox does't open the "New Private Window". Whenever I install firefox for the first time, the New private windows doesn't show any problem. But when I proceed, I can find out I can no longer open the new private window. Technically, the website opens, but it does not show the "purple-coloured eye glasses".
I think my computer is infected by malware because my searching histories are also saved in the incognito mode of Google Chrome.
Would you be able to fix this problem by updating the software?

Dear Community,
I have a hand full of passwords I would like Firefox to fill out but stop asking me if I like to save logins and passwords every time I have to login on a websites.
Unfortunately, when I uncheck "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites", Firefox will stop "Autofill logins and passwords", even the saved ones.
Does anyone know a workaround?
Hopefully, Elmar

I find that images generally show on webpages such as the front page of a news site. However, when I click into a specific article, the image which is usually near the start of an article in a lot of cases does not show (so it's not a "always never shown" situation); it's as if it's been removed from the webpage syntax i.e. there's no white space section showing something is missing. One example (of many I could include!) is https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/phonics-revolution-the-new-sound-of-reading-in-the-nations-schools/7A5UVZ55NAOJEQACLKELCNEU6U/ I verified there are images there by restarting Firefox with Add-ons disabled (which starts Firefox in Safe Mode), and also by opening in another browser. So I went thru and disabled *all* add-ons and restarted Firefox. Images still don't show! These missing images only show when I run Firefox in Safe Mode.
In the back of my mind, there is/used-to-be an option to limit the size of images on a page(?) but I can't find any option now. I have also refreshed Firefox (a number of times; including a total de-install, reboot, re-install) but the problem remains. .. What am I missing? I'd like to be able to see these images.
Thanks.

Firefox 84.0.2 (64-bit) Running HTTPS Everywhere Running Privacy Badger Firefox set for standard enhanced tracking protection HTTPS-ONLY mode set for all windows
At my bank and a few other websites using HTTPS as standard operating procedure, Firefox gives me an error that the site is NOT using HTTPS and gives me the option of using only HTTP! This is unacceptable, financial transactions must be secured with HTTPS. What is the fix for this?
I'm spread thin and don't have the personal time resource to keep hunting through thousands of miscellaneous support articles that, from their titles, I haven't a clue whether they are relevant or not! (Though I tried investing an hour or so in this exercise getting nowhere.)
Sorry, I didn't save copies of the same error message on three different HTTPS sites.

Hi, I'm trying to disable the "restore previous session including tabs" after crash feature.
I've disabled the "Restore previous session" check from the general configuration panel.
I've changed the following values from the about:config panel: browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes = 0 browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash = false
However after a restart or shutdown, Firefox still shows up the tabs from the previous session.
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 OS.
Could someone please help me with this?
Perhaps this feature is useful for some people, but for me it's extremely annoying; plus I really like Firefox and don't wanna change browsers.
Thanks!

I have configured FF to block all cookies under "Browser Privacy" the custom setting allows "Choose which trackers and scripts to block. and I selected "all cookies". Knowing that all cookies will be blocked I logged into office 365 and allowed manually cookies through "view page info" I then selected "set cookies" to allow expecting full access to office 365 mail, but this did not occur. What happened is I logged into office 365 and could see the icons and my login name but could not read the mail.
Office 365 gave the message "we couldn't sign you in please try again" yet I could see my log in name and the office 365 icons for mail, calendar etc.. just not the actual data. If I allow cookies in Browser privacy (which i take it allows cookies always) it woks.
I bring this up because it seems like something is missing in cookies that is not represented in FF.What is the difference between browser privacy cookies and allowing it through view page permissions? Can anyone offer an explanation?

Hello!
I recently purchased a new laptop that has biometric capabilities and was very excited to implement it into my Mozilla for an even more secure browser. Come to find out (so I think), that the touch ID can only be used for "sensitive" information like credit cards, etc. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, or I'm looking in the wrong place but what I would like to do is use touch ID on all of my autofills, even something as minor as a Webkinz account. I do know of the primary password, but obviously it's much faster and secure to use a fingerprint.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
