What is wrong with Firefox?????

For last two weeks it takes me 6 to 15 attempts to get Firefox to 'boot up' If/when it does, it may load several home pages after being non responsive on previous attempts. Then, after finally getting it 'booted', 90+% of the time it crashes, locks up my computer up or infamously goes "Firefox is not responding" and I can't end the program either! I have to shut down completely and reboot from scratch ~ bet I have rebooted my computer over 500 times in last week!!! Have spent as much as an hour plus trying to turn my computer (Compaq N600C laptop) turned on and load Firefox to get to my 40+ Bookmarks I am using as a favorites list! If/when I do get to a website ~ then that site (g-mail, for instance) does weird stuff frequently ~ not respond, not print keystrokes, not let highlight and copy, paste, etc. ~ not send e-mails!! Fix FIREFOX!!!!! ~ I have a friend experiencing the same kind of troubles with firefox! on a different home PC ~ he thought it was a virus and took his computer to the shop!!

my question exactly, whats wrong? was the best browser out there and i still love it but im considering chrome now. "not responding" problem is really pissing me, it constantly occurs. and whats up with sync? it keeps disconnecting, hate it! Fix FF please, make it great again.
Me too, it's a pity but Firefox 7 is a disaster for me, it becomes hopelessly slow to load websites and almost grinds to a halt. I've just downloaded 6.0.2 again and removed 7, what can it be that's causing this?
I have Firefox 10 and it sucks. I can't go anywhere without a wait . it is driving me nuts. as soon as I hit post reply I will have to wait to do anything else. what is up with all these problems. Please Firefox people, make Firefox great again. I will probably delete this program and try another , hope it's better than this.
I am not sure if is Firefox or Google. but going through Windows explorer. loads much faster. I do not see anybody from Mozilla answering. May be Mozilla got too big and "lost its way".
I have been having the same type of issue. I'm running windows vista 64 bit, don't remember when it started version 9.0 maybe, possibly even earlier. I have gotten so frustrated I gave up trying to fix it. I start firefox and it goes to not responding instantly, taxes my whole system, will not close using task manager and makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything on my computer, Can't even log off I have to shut down the whole computer to get out of it. I've tried safe mode, I've tried disabling add ons, now firefox won't even uninstall correctly. I Loved firefox but now its so much useless junk. Please fix it
