Hello, I have several role-based accounts attached to my work email account. When trying to read an email from one of those role-based account, when Thunderbird tries to load the email, I get the following error message: "The specified object was not found in the store. The store ID isn't an ID of an item." The message never loads. I just get the error message. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Thanks!

Running Thunderbird V130.0.2 64-bit on Win 11 Pro. I have several profiles, mostly on Gmail. Yesterday I had to change all of my email passwords. I was able to change passwords on Thunderbird for all but one of the Gmail accounts. I still don't understand why I had this issue with one Gmail account but not 2 others. Eventually I deleted the profile in question and created a new profile (same Gmail email address / account).

Which was fine but in doing this I lost my local email folders. I have all of the email folders and I tried just moving them from old profile to new one. This worked fine for local folders (at least the ones I tried) but not for nested folders. The support I've found so far tells me how to move the entire profile, but that doesn't work (I run into the same password problem as I did yesterday).

Is there a way to tell Thunderbird about these nested local email folders so they will be found upon Thunderbird startup? I haven't found it yet.

My local email folders are found here: C:\Users\<Windows Account>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Thunderbird profile>\Mail\Local Folders

Thanks in advance.

It would be very useful if I could see Inbox and Sent mail together, in a single list, without including any other folders.

If I use All Mail, it includes all of my archived emails as well. I would like to avoid this when I go through all of my Inbox and Sent emails and put the ones I want to keep into archive folders.

I suppose a simpler and more flexible way to implement this would be to provide the ability to use check boxes to select exactly which folders I want to include in the list. Each folder would have a its own check box. That would be very flexible and incredibly useful.

After my email provider changed some things, to get TB to work I had to delete and add back my five email accounts (discussed in another thread). All those email accounts now work, but their visual presentation is very different (and worse in my opinion). Before, there was one Inbox, Junk, and Trash, all under Local Folders. Now, there are five (one for each email account) sets of Inbox, Junk, and Trash. They appear above Local Folders which now contains only items put there before my problem started.

I've attached an image of what this visual presentation looks like now.

I ask the following question a WEEK ago. No one has offered a solution. Can someone put me in touch with Thunderbird Tech Support?

Recap

Thunderbird(TB) gets mail from Hotmail, my own domain, and gmail. I've use and auto-updated this program for the past 20 years. This is the first major problem I've had. Nothing has changed, ie: updates, new programs, or the like.

TB has stopped retrieving new mail since 05.12.2025. I can send mail but not receive mail. ALL settings are correct. I can go to the original sites individually and all the mail is there. Obviously I can send and receive mail on those sites, but TB will only send mail not receive it. The only thing I have not done is uninstall/reinstall.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

New Info: No error messages, sometimes when I click on "inbox" it says "Loading Messages" but it says that FOREVER.

Second question: If I re-install, can I bring all my setup, filters, and boxes to the new install without having to recreate everything from scratch. I have at least 100 subfolders and as many filters.

After compacting, nearly all my my e-mails that were stored in subfolders have disappeared. You indicated that most of these should be recoverable, but I'm unable to locate any process for doing so.

Some of these subfolders contained links to paid subscriptions, and of course - restoring those is pretty critical, both personally and professionally.

Please explain how to go about recovering all these missing e-mails. I cannot believe a regular maintenance procedure would result in such a significant data loss.

Many thanks and best regards!

I want to send an email to most (but not all) the members of a mailing list - as I used to be able to. In the historic (2015) Help article "How to create and use mailing lists on Thunderbird" the first of 2 methods of "Create email using a mailing list" was "Via the Address Book"; "each contact in the mailing list will appear in a separate To field. This allows you to remove a name, if desired. " To do this, the 3 steps were:- 1 Click Address Book to open it. 2 Select the mailing list. 3 Click the Write button. Using 128.7.1esr (64-bit), step 3 is not available; the 4 options after selecting the mailing list are

  • Edit list
  • Export
  • Print
  • Delete

Is there a way of actually doing what used to be possible before the improvements took place (and IIIBDFI was forgotten?)

‘400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know’.

I've installed the latest desktop version of Thunderbird to evaluate. The signature is added only for new messages and not included when replying or forwarding a message. I've tested the signature with both plain text and html signature - both doesn't work as expected. I've also tried pasting the html code in the input field and attaching it as a file. Is this an intentional omission of functionality or I'm I missing something? I'm attaching my account settings interface.

I bought a new PC in February, backed up all emails and transferred onto new PC. All working fine until last week when windows OS crashed the new PC, managed to re-download Thunderbird and installed everything from back-up USB emails up to February. From February to today no emails have been uploaded in the "local folders". Is there a cloud/ server that stores my old emails in the local folders, so I can recover them, or even a program?
