Thunderbird does not display the icons like inbox, sent, etc at startup. I reinstalled the client and everything worked but when I restart it does show the icons or my mail. What setup am I missing?

I currently use a Yahoo.co.uk email address but would like to add an additional email address with a different @xxxx.com affix.

I have looked at the existing instructions but seem to have missed the appropriate section dealing with it?

I haven't been able to identify the Thunderbird version.

I currently get my email from Spectrum.net. They have made some changes that necessitates me making server changes in Thunderbird. I can't seem to find a way to do that. Everything seems to point me to a new account. If I set up a new account will I lose all of my eisting emails on my desktop?

my email was previously provided by internode, which stopped. I transferred to the messenger co keeping my email address [redacted]@internode.on.net. However when I activate thunderbird I get a drop down box saying

mail.internode.on.net with username [redacted] failed

I used the option of "cancel" and things worked ok

Each time I open Thunderbird I get the same drop down etc

It is anoying

Does this make sense?

I found a help topic on your site about adding my existing email account to the Local folder (unified) and the help topic says to go to message "advance tab" and choose "Inbox for a different account" . . I don't have that option.. Just show "Imap server directory" etc .. etc My other email accts show up in my 'Local Folders" - I just don't know where to find an option to add the one email acct to the 'Local Folders" like all my other accts. Thanks.

My father recently passed away, and both of us have been Thunderbird users for a very long time (Agent Forte before that). Can I move his Thunderbird profile so that it is incorporated into mine, with all his old emails? In my profile, I already have three different email accounts listed, with their own inbox and their own sent box. I would love his emails to be like that, so that I can download emails sent to his address from my profile, but they remain distinctly within that account? How do I do that? Thank you!

Thunderbird continuously asks me to log in to an email account that no longer exists whenever I try to compose an email. I can send emails just fine on my Chrome web browser using Gmail, but I really like do all my emailing using Thunderbird. Specifically the error message states, " Login to server smtp.gmail.com with username mikeromano.1185@gmail.com failed." Please advise how I can fix this. Thanks, Mike Romano

My current ISP is ntlworld.com. Shortly I will be moving to outlook.com. I want to keep using TB but am not sure how to change the TB settings to switch to Outlook.

What settings do I need to change to do this, please?

This has happened twice now when I open Thunderbird. My first email account on the left pane comes up with just the name of the account, no inbox, no folders, no nothing underneath it and it does not expand to show them. I'm not sure why this is happening, but the first time I actually had to completely delete and readd that account to fix the problem. I've searched various places for answers -- change folder views, change layouts, various other suggestions -- but nothing works to resolve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really annoying.

My profile contains 30 years of work emails which I sort as received into organized folders, stored on my computer. This archive is used frequently to search re projects, correspondence.

My email provider is shutting down. I have already set up my own POP3 server, with new email address.

I'm using webmail until I'm confident I can make the transition w/o screwing up! [Had one storage melt-down which required weeks of work to recover folders from a backup. Once burned, twice shy.]

I deleted a Google email mailbox that I no longer use. However, everytime I start up Thunderbird it still tries to authenticate and login to that mailbox. I removed the connection from my outbound mail servers but do not know where else to look. The connection is to a Google Mail box and it automatically pops up a browser window with a Gmail login prompt each time I start Thunderbird.

Also, all my other connections to my other (non-Google) mailboxes are stuck and will not send and receive messages.

Any advice would be helpful! Thank you!

So my other Emails that are setup for outlook.office365.com work but then I try to add a new one today and it don't work I try delete cookies remove saved logins for the given Email remove permission and start over it just does not work.

This might be a Microsoft issue?

I used to have a corporate Gmail account but a colleague has taken it over and changed the password I removed it from my thunderbird win10 app by selecting it and deleting it in the normal way and all the folders have gone But every time I launch the app on my pc it asks me for a password for the deleted account, then launches a chrome browser page and asks me to log in to my colleague's Google account I've tried deleting thunderbird and reinstalling but this still happens, as though the account details including the deleted one are still stored somewhere on the PC. I have 4 personal email accounts and I use the unified folder facility Can you help?

For the first time I am trying to add several different email accounts to Thunderbird on my Windows 11 laptop. One worked fine (i.e. second email account). The next, from a different email provider, only has an inbox, no other folders. Local folders now appears below the this last email account, and includes copies of the primary email account Sent folder and my Invoices folder. There are more items in this copy Invoices folder than in the version listed straight under the primary email Inbox.

My aim is to have several different email accounts, each with their own Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Deleted, and the capability to add Folders as I wish. But I am thoroughly confused, having tried and failed to add the usual and any extra folders to this email account. Would be grateful for any advice.

I used to access my emails through the pop server however after an update there were weird things happening and somehow I managed to get my emails through the imap server. When I tried to get it back to the pop server, the default button was greyed out.

Today I have deleted the imap server, thinking that it might allow me to use the default button for the pop server however it is still greyed out.

When I went in to try to set up email on the pop server it is telling me that I already have the pop server but it isn't the default and I have no way of getting any of my emails now.

HELP!

Sorry if the acronyms are wrong. A friend is on Virgin email which is being hived off to a paying service. He'd like to keep the old virgin mail on his PC. And use a new gmail account instead.
