My current version of Firefox is 151.0.4 (64-bit) & for the past 2 weeks or so every time I use the search bar to google something it triggers one of those "We've detected unusual activity from your network" requiring a Captcha. At first I tried all of the typical stuff [antivirus, vpn, extensions, etc...] to make sure that wasn't the issue. But as of yesterday & confirmed today I can actually go to Google's website first & do the search from there with no issue & no captcha.

So, whatever the issue is has to do specifically with doing the search via the search bar... for some reason. Is this a bug in the browser, or is there perhaps some setting that could cause this to happen in the about:config page? Though, I doubt a setting could be it because I've changed the settings I've changed now for years without causing this issue.

I am using Firefox on Linux Ubuntu 26.04. I normally work with multiple tabs. Then I quit Firefox with all tabs open at the point of quitting. Some times on the rare occasion there can be a forced quit due to some issues. In my settings I have configured it not to open the previous tabs. In fact I want a blank page. But whenever I reopen Firefox, it opens those tabs and tries to reload which is annoying. Some of these pages take a long time to reload, and why would I want to look at tabs which I already have read. Or if it crashes due to some website on a tab why reopen something that crashed in the place ? Can you fix this. Thanks.

When I start Firefox, open the application menu, and select Bookmarks, about 50 Bookmarks are displayed under "Recent bookmarks". Many of the bookmarks are not recent. Some are months old and several might be years old.

I've used Firefox for years and only noticed this because I'm trying to help a friend who is having trouble with and old Windows 10 laptop. I installed Firefox 1560.1 (64bit) and added a lot of folders and bookmarks using "Manage bookmarks" or Ctrl-Shift-o. It currently only has 42 bookmarks displayed under "Recent Bookmarks" because I started Rt-clicking and deleting them before I figured that this deletes the bookmark that I had added to a folder in addition to removing it from the Recent bookmark list.

I feel this feature (Recent Bookmarks) totally negates the privacy and security that the Clear Browsing data and Never remember history options USED to give me.

My Dell Precision Laptop from 2019 runs a frequently updated Ubuntu 24.04. About one or two weeks ago, after one of the latest Firefox updates, i noticed that video streaming produces rectangular flickering in rapid sweeps. ( Also fast scrolling large text websites produces similar flickering, I think I would have noticed it before...) . If you detected it once, you see it always again... :-( First I fiddled around with the nvidia settings because the driver was also recently updated, without much success. Playing locally stored videos, e.g. with VLC media player, still works fine, so the nvidia driver is not the problem i think. Yesterday I installed Chromium and the video performance is fine! As good as with firefox some weeks ago! So it must be one of the latest updates, that causes the problem. Generally I like firefox more than chromium. I like the control you have, e.g. via Add ons.. So I hope that the firefox performance will increase again... Thank you for firefox! Florian Mengedoht

Since the last upgrade, my Home Page has gone from "Classic" to "Smart Window" which does not contain all the tiles I have on the Classic Page. I love having all those tiles on my home page. I have to manually change the page whenever I start Firefox. I am very old (over 80) and not as computer literate as I could be but I don't have grandchildren who can help me with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a file that has been deleted by cleaning disk space, and then I cleaned my recycle bin. The file it wants is a Norton.file

C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\Updater\  

How can I find the file and remove it so I can uninstall Chrome?

I get "This browser version is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser." when I open Gmail in Firefox. I have version 156.01 on windows. Have been getting the message since Sept 1 or so. Otherwise, FireFox seems to work OK. But some websites do not work properly with it like Home Depot and the City Of Brockton website, I have to use chrome to access them.

Predictive Text, Text Predictions. How can i shut this off for good. I don't like it telling me what word to type in next. It messes me up when i am typing. It does this in google search that i put in there when i was setting Firefox up. I made Google search my search engine. When i open up google search and ask it a question then click on enter to see the answer. After that then if i want to type in something else about that answer it goes to a chat box. The one with the blue oblong with a white arrow facing up. That chat box is where the problem is. It always tells me most of the time the next word or sentence to type in. I don't like it doing that. I like just how am typing in this box that i am seeking an answer for. I can type just one word at a time without it trying to put other words in for me. I have AI this for an answer and did everything possible to fix it. Do you have any suggestion for me. Thank You. PS: i have windows 11 with Lenovo laptop.

It used to show the browser width counter in the top right corner when you resized it. Now in the latest version I no longer see this. How can I get this back? It's a great feature!

how do I get rid of these annoying webpages that appear automatically when Firefox or it's adblocker has updated? it's like advertising for an app I already use the whole time.

I used to be able to see my browsing history on a specific date until a recent update. Control H gives me browsing history, but even selecting "by date" or "by date and and site" doesn't give me the specific dates, only months, which is not what I need.

I routinely check out several local news outlets' websites and for the last 2-3 weeks, since a Firefox update (using FF 156.0.1 (64-bit) on Win11, v25H2, Build 26200.9550) I keep getting a Norton popup box saying "we prevented your connection to <x> because it is a malicious website", where 'X' is either littlestastronaut.com, or something like planted.com (screenshots of Norton popup windows doesn't work). This doesn't happen with any of the other couple dozen websites I visit, just 2 out of the maybe 5 or 6 different news websites I look at. Odd thing is I look up either of these two 'dangerous' websites and they either don't exist or they are some school related website. That popup comes after I have to select either "continue without ads" or go to the FF address bar and disable the ad-blocking for that site, so I'm thinking that there's maybe something in FF that is causing this? It happens on both of these sites whether I check "continue without ads" or disable the FF ad-blocker which doesn't make sense that that 'malicious site' is contained within an ad on the news site because on one I don't disable ads so it shouldn't even come through but still Norton catches it??? Yes, A-I will one day rule the world....ya-right.

My VPN used to work perfectly with my South African sites. Since I've downloaded the new Beta version of Firefox, things have become unstable, and the South African sites - mainly my dictionaries (which I use daily because I'm a translator) - don't work any more.

South Africa is one of the countries on the list, but when I open the VPN now, it says South Africa is unavailable, which had never been the case before.

Please help me sort it out. I can't take screenshots of the problem. When I go to the country list from the VPN, the dialogue box disappears.

I'm using Firefox from the official Ubuntu repository (packages.mozilla.org). I have used the (very cool) "translate page" feature successfully, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work on https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/NL:Basisregistratie_Adressen_en_Gebouwen which I'd like translated to English. Even though Firefox thinks the page was translated, only one of the headings seems to be in English.

I would like to understand how to troubleshoot this and help you improve this great feature. Thank you in advance.
