Saving downloaded files

I have set up a preferred download location in Settings and also ticked the "Always ask you where to save files" box, so for every download, the default location comes up… (gụkwuo)

I have set up a preferred download location in Settings and also ticked the "Always ask you where to save files" box, so for every download, the default location comes up in the download screen.

However, I regularly want to download a number of files in succession to the same non-default location and it is a pain to set it up each time. Is there any way to get Firefox to remember the last location used to save a file and offer it each time (at least in each session) for downloads?

I'm running Firefox 135.01 (64-bit) on Windows 11.

I try to install Firefox directly from the Mozilla repository.

For that, I read the article "Install Firefox on Linux" and followed the install instructions in first chapter "Debian-based distributions" step-by-step. (article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux)

Unfortunately, with every attempt to install Firefox, the Firefox LinuxMint (Ubundu) package will be still installed. The command to priorise the Mozilla Repository seems to have no influenace.

How can I prevent/avoid to use the LinuxMint/Ubundu repository? I wan't to install and update Firefox direct from Mozilla source.

I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 Xia base (Ubuntu 24.04 noble)

Firefox crashes every day or so on my home computer. The most common error message is "kmode exception not handled." I've tried the suggested fixes. Nothing helps. The crashes are not being recorded in "about crashes" or in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\. So it seems the crash reporter has to be fixed before the problem causing the crashes can be identified. Firefox does not crash on my office computer and no other program causes my home computer to crash. Thank you.

I'm on Fedora 41 + gnome, but this issue persisted even in Windows 11, which caused BSOD therefore I made the switch to linux (At least in linux it doesn't crash the whole system, only firefox). If you need any additional information let me know. I can run journalctl/dmesg if required.

I've already tried things like restarting in safe mode (troubleshoot mode), refreshing firefox etc. Didn't work.

There are some sites in it that I've not visited very often, but trying to find them with a particular search returns a whole bunch of data that is from a site that isn't the one I'm looking for. I'd like to exclude certain sites from a history search, but there doesn't seem to be any documentation about how to do that.

Is it even possible to exclude words from history results?

The recent update has caused the font size, including tabs, to reduce to almost unreadable. I can barely use the browser now. What setting where do I use to correct this?

I usually use Arial variations and need at least 14 for font size. My settings are always the same. My machine is a Lenovo ThinkPad and the OS is Windows 11. I have four bars at the top of the screen, File/Edit, below that tabs, below that the search bar, and below that bookmarks. Before yesterday everything was the correct size for my vision.
