I click on either the desktop link or the one on my Start menu and it won't open up and if it even does it take literally 20 minutes. Plus when I close it it seems closed but when I try to reopen it, a window pops up saying that Firefox is still running when it actually isn't. I have to restart my computer every time to get it working again. My default internet browser still works fine and so did Fire Fox until a few days ago.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
