My location bar doesn't change when i visit new sites so the back and forward buttons are disabled.

Just started last week. Not sure why. As i visit new sites, the URL in the location bar doesn't change and the Firefox back and forward buttons are disabled as a result. I can use the back and forward buttons on my keyboard and mouse, however.
