If Firefox is on the second screen, on dual screen mode, functions that open a new window (show source, show console,... ) dont open a new window, but are shown in the window menu. But they are not selectable in the window menu.

I tested this with or without extensions, with or without hardware accelleration. I asked collegues, they are all experiencing the same problem.

Maybe linked to the problem also: if Firefox is on 2nd screen in dual screen mode (extended desktop) and i try to open a new window, it opens a window as small stripe, barely grabable.

System: Mac OS X 10.6 / Firefox 4.0.1 /

Experienced the same problem. If on the secondary screen, the main firefox browser window appears and is browseable. But try and bring up 'view source' window or the 'Downloads' window, or even open up a new browser window and nothing happens. (tried both hotkeys and going via the menu bar) Drag the main firefox window to the primary screen and everything works as expected.

We've found a solution to this problem, not really satisfying though. On the Mac, go to the System Preferences and open the Screens Panel. Go to the Screen Adjustments. You have to align the second screen exactly on top of the main screen. After that, the Firefox lets you display source, debugger, etc... if your main window is on the second screen. Tested with different Mac's, which all had the same behavior. Definitely a bug....

Pixelbar's work around works for me too. I was just about to uninstall FF5 and go back to 3.6 again (This was also broken in FF4). Come on guys, a dual screen setup is pretty common these days.
