Address history not being overwritten when I carry on typing
Imagine that http://site.com/catsandmice is in my browser history. I now want to go to http://site.com/catsanddogs
When I start typing http://site.com/c it pre-fills http://site.com/catsandmice. But when I carry on typing the new address it does not overwrite the rest of it, it adds it between the 'c' and the 'atsandmice' so unless I manually delete the extra text then I end up with http://site.com/catsanddogsatsandmice
This has been doing it for the last few updates and it hasn't been fixed yet - not sure if it's been reported as an issue or if it's just me seeing it! I've cleared browser history and cache etc but still does it.

Thank you for your question, I understand that when you clear the history that this still happens. Does it happen when you delete the specific history entry?
Also check to see if its an add on that might be changing the function. Is there a difference in the selected keyboard or if autocomplete is turned on or off?
What kind of device and android version does it happen on and can you provide url examples, these are all the pieces of information that would be included in the next steps if troubleshooting addons and keyboards does not make a difference. The next step being filling a bug in bugzilla:
