My phone and tablet now show only the subject, but there is no context in the body. Verizon says it's a Thunderbird problem. How do I fix this?

My email works on my computer and webmail just fine. Suddenly the emails on my phone and tablet show only the subject, no message in the body. I uninstalled and reinstalled my email, which temporarily fixed the problem, but it came right back a few hours later. Verizon says it's a Thunderbird problem.

But you're not running Thunderbird on the phone and tablet, are you?

You say you "uninstalled and reinstalled your email". How? Where?

Yes. I have Thunderbird and Firefox on my phone and tablet. The tablet appears to be working fine this morning, but not the phone.

You must be special since there is no Thunderbird version that runs on phones or tablets.

That wasn't very helpful.

Neither is claiming you have Thunderbird running on a phone or a tablet.

I thought I did. I use the same settings as on my laptop email, and I do use Firefox. Obviously I'm not a techy or I could fix the problem myself.

Firefox is completely irrelevant. It is a separate program from Thunderbird. But there is a version for phones and tablets. I could tell you are not techy when you believed Verizon when they told you that software that is not installed on your devices is affecting the way they operate.

I don't believe that Thunderbird has the capability to specifically delete content and leave headers behind. Hence some scepticism about how Thunderbird is involved in all this.

Is it a Windows tablet? I guess something like a Surface or one of the new hybrid/convertibles might be able to run Thunderbird, at a push.

I do some work involving remote control of Windows PCs and sometimes this is done from an Android tablet. Working a screen that wasn't designed for touch operation via a touch interface is hard work and quite frustrating. For this reason, I wouldn't even consider putting Thunderbird onto a tablet. It simply isn't designed for touch control.

I'll ask again: You say you "uninstalled and reinstalled your email". How? Where? On the tablet? On the phone? Or on a "real" computer?

My tablet is working correctly now. I uninstalled and reinstalled my phone. It is a windows phone. I have my domain host looking at it also, so I hope it gets solved soon.
