I'm using several proprietary applications that can't be upgraded and can't operate on newer platforms. Firefox keeps throwing up messages about upgrading plugins. Attempts to upgrade result in messages saying the newer plugins won't work with WinXP. I would like to find out how to convince Firefox to stop the messages.

For Windows XP you should try to use the Flash Player 13.0.0.269 ESR instead. This version was released at same time as 16.0.0.305.
