I am unable to e-mail my friend who uses "lycos.com" for his e-mail. I get a postmaster notice each time I try. I can e-mail anyone else.

I don't understand how this is related to Firefox. Mail returning back isn't a Firefox problem. Perhaps the email address that you are sending to does not exist anymore?
