Problem when downloading files with special characters like ä & ö

Howdy,

I have a problem with Firefox(14.0.1 at the moment) when downloading a file special characters like ä & ö. When start to download and the "please enter a folder & filename screen appears the characters are replaced with gibberish like:

"space" =" %20" "ö" = "%6" "ä" = "%e4"

I did some googling and tested the following

1. Fiddled with the encoding settings, but cannot seem to get the file name to work.

2. Tried in safemode, but the problem persists.

A picture to to make my gibberish more clear http://www.petteri.org/fire.jpg ;)

Computers that i am using are XP SP3 FI & 7 FI 32-bit.

The character "ö" is being replaced by hexadecimal Unicode, which is F6. The "ä" has the Unicode value of E4. The special characters are being replaced by Unicode. I have no idea what you can do about that, other than renaming the files after downloading.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
