How to have Firefox open on my extended desktop?

Up until last week firefox would open where I had last closed it. Now It will only open on my Macbook screen and I have to drag it up to my larger screen, which wouldn't be so bad except for that any additional windows I open always open on the MacBook screen. its becoming a real drag...please help.

this is a reported regeression in firefox 12 - hopefully it will be adressed and fixed in the upcoming releases...
