My OS is Ubuntu 11.10 and some, unknown reason Firefox 7.0.1 is no longer properly rendering HTML. Any ideas what is causing this anomaly?
A couple of nights ago I was using Firefox without any problems. The next day when I opened the browser it was no longer properly rendering HTML. Since I use Thunderbird for my email client, it was affected as well.

You seem to be having a problem with the Arial font.
You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).
You can also try different default serif/sans-serif fonts.
- Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced
- [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Here's the screen-shot. As you can see, only parts of the page are rendered properly. The titles for the menu bar are missing, the content is incomplete, and text fields will not accept any keyboard entries.
Hope this is helpful and thanks for your assistance.

Thanks so much! I had no idea that font(s) could cause such a problem. The problem was resolved when I "unchecked" [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above".
You're welcome
Did you do the font test?
